Colleagues,
I hope you are all doing well and that you did not suffer much loss during he passing of Gustav.
Vessel of Honour- Instrument that is used for good
There are points in our life when we need to take a hard long look at ourselves, see our selves for what we really are and deal with it. We might be men and women of faith who are striving after higher spiritual virtues and are having good success. On the other hand, there might be those of us who are experiencing defeat after defeat. Hard thinking about the quality and quantity of virtues that are resident and evident in our lives is always important. Honest introspection is always a wonderful thing especially when it leads us to successfully resolve to strengthen what needs to be strengthened and to weed out what needs to be removed. What is it in your life that needs to be strengthened? What is in your life that needs to be removed? Get in touch which yourself. If there are habits of mind that have enwrapped you and are preventing you from living totally and completely for God, then your life might be enveloped in spiritual barrenness. We need to make an honest assessment of our character.
Most people I know want to walk the way of godliness and righteousness but like the apostle St. Paul, we often cry, the good I would, I do not and the evil I detest, I find myself engaged in it nevertheless. That was his assessment of himself. Of course, for St. Paul and for others too, the Spirit of God is the Great Enabler, helping us to walk in newness of life or in the Spirit and to live the transformed life, a life that is oriented to God, completely illumined by the Spirit. As we make the honest assessment of our character, we might come to realize that we have many deficiencies, let us resolve to pray for inner strength and let us strive to live our lives in commitment to God.
At the end of the day do you want to be a vessel of honor, an instrument that is used to impact in powerful ways and for good, the lives of others? I want to be that instrument that touches other human lives in wonderful ways, I want to be a vessel of honour and I believe you want to be one too.
I hope you are all doing well and that you did not suffer much loss during he passing of Gustav.
