ATTORNEY Berriston 'Berry' Bryan, 72, was yesterday found dead at his mansion at Christopher Road in Stony Hill, St Andrew,
The body of the lawyer, who lived alone, was discovered with wounds to the head by a worker about 8:00 am, according to Superintendent Wilford Gayle, crime officer for the Police Area 5.
"The body was in a state of decomposition, it was examined by a doctor. There were obvious wounds to the head," Superintendent Gayle said.
The police officer declined to give further details on the death of the lawyer, saying that police were "still investigating".
It was alleged yesterday that Bryan had received threats during the recent murder trial of former trade ambassador Peter King, in which he represented the accused, 25-year-old Sheldon Pusey. The police were, however, unable to confirm the claim.
Yesterday, investigators spent hours processing Bryan's two-storey home for clues as a handful of people looked on.
Bryan's murder comes just three months after he told reporters of his desire to appeal a manslaughter conviction against Pusey.
Pusey, who has started his 15-year sentence, was originally charged with murder for the March 19, 2006 stabbing death of King, but the majority of jurors opted to convict him on the lesser charge of manslaughter.
