Don't Ass About With Gay Lobby (Gleaner Letter) .........

Obviously some people fear what they do not understand and it is not the first time this teacher has written such garbage, I would hate to think what his pupils maybe under especially if that child was a gender non conformist from pretty early as we seem to have quite a few of those these days or even transgender for that matter. 

First here is the letter,

Don't Ass About With Gay Lobby

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I stand in solidarity with all those who are in opposition to the gay lifestyle in Jamaica. The editor and 'ass. editor' of The Gleaner seem to be actively engaging in gay-rights lobbying of late.

I would hope that The Gleaner, the leading newspaper in Jamaica, will not sell out itself, but will stand firm for NORMAL family values, and for moral rectitude, no matter the pressure from abroad or at home! The world, indeed, is in need of men (and women) who will not be bought or sold.

Mr Editor, I do hope you are mindful of the majority of us who are against the perverse gay lifestyle and remember that in a democracy, as in polls you run from time to time, the voice of the majority counts.

I remind you, Mr Ass. Editor, that morals in Jamaica are deeply entrenched in the biblical and Christian culture (even if very many of us ignore that reality, or fail to live by its standards). This entrenched cultural reality is confirmed each time we sing the national anthem, which is a prayer to the Eternal Father of the Christian tradition.

God and the very Bible that our Constitution and courts appeal to are firmly anti-homosexual, and that fact will not change. One only has to look at Romans 1:18-32 to see that homosexuality is classed along with all other sins like murder and lying or deceit and is condemned firmly by the TRUE Christian culture.

If we don't want God's influence on the affairs in our land, we should also change our national anthem, remove the Bibles from the courtrooms, find some other symbol to swear by, have no devotions in schools, discontinue national prayer breakfasts, etc. It is national hypocrisy to do otherwise and remain consistent!

Is this the floodgate The Gleaner editor would want to open?

The 'ass which the writer speaks refers to the commentary as was penned by the Gleaner's Associate Editor Mr Byron Buckley on Sunday: End Discrimination Against Sexual Minorities interestingly it is the same paper that has published this letter, is that the best this writer can do? given the piece was only espousing tolerance not acceptance and the recent HFLE and UTECH physical abuse matters.

I think we should flood his email as I have sent him a respectable answer, no insults but just clear cold facts and objective points, my comment on the Gleaner page (if they approve it) is as follows:

"Pity this writer like so many others don't get so worked up for more important matters (well it is to us) especially those that are right before our eyes every day, like homelessness, the children in adult lockups, not to mention the thousands missing ones and the poor, why so desperate to peek through persons keyhole or to stop persons from making CONSENTING PRIVATE DECISIONS?

Mistakes are often made when one has to hide and do something more than when someone has free will.

Homosexuality - a biological reality
Homophobia - a lifestyle choice

This writer has clearly made their choice

Think on these things"

This continued fear (or deliberate attempts to deceive or sheer ignorance) being expressed that male homosexuality in particular automatically translates into paedophilia and subversion or forcing on to heterosexual or curious folks unwarranted same sex actions is nonsense if that were so we would have "homosexualized" him already for that matter, some persons just do not think before they put their thoughts down or have other ulterior motives in the name of God. 

I will continue to recommend Nicholas Groth's book "Men Who Rape" The Psychology of the offender every chance I get as we need to look squarely at the differences between innate homosexuality and the ugly business of paedophilia to reject the paranoiac arguments by some, he, Groth clearly shows that even the same sex paedophile's supposed homosexual orientation by virtue of the victim's gender is not synonymous and does not reflect he or she for that matter are gay but psychological control of a younger defenceless victim is the motivator for the abuse. Pedophilia or paedophilia has a range of definitions as found in psychology, law enforcement, and the popular vernacular. As a medical diagnosis, it is defined as a psychological disorder in which an adult experiences a sexual preference for prepubescent children. 

According to the DSM, paedophilia is specified as a form of paraphilia in which a person either has acted on intense sexual urges towards children, or experiences recurrent sexual urges towards and fantasies about children that cause distress or interpersonal difficulty. The disorder is frequently a feature of persons who commit child sexual abuse. Groth who has treated over 3000 child molesters over the course of two decades is a former director of the Sex Offender Program at the Connecticut Department of Corrections, Groth is the author of Men Who Rape: Psychology of the Offender, a work widely regarded as a classic textbook on the psychology of sexual violence.

He concurred in a recent debate on homosexuality vs paedophilia that Homosexuality and homosexual pedophilia are not synonymous. In fact, it may be that these two orientations are mutually exclusive, the reason being that the homosexual male is sexually attracted to masculine qualities whereas the heterosexual male is sexually attracted to feminine characteristics, and the sexually immature child’s qualities are more feminine than masculine. . . . The child offender who is attracted to and engaged in adult sexual relationships is heterosexual. 

It appears, therefore, that the adult heterosexual male constitutes a greater sexual risk to under age children than does the adult homosexual male.

The general belief in the stereotype that "Homosexuals are dangerous as teachers or youth leaders because they try to get sexually involved with children" or that "Homosexuals try to play sexually with children if they cannot get an adult partner." is very real in our scenario and MUST be debunked at every place it raises its head.

This misconception at least or clever deception at worst seems clearly woven into the religious right's strategy to supposedly "fight the gay agenda" (they are certainly and could never be Christians) we see it showing up with persons like those from the JCHS with this fearmongering and Shirley Richards who use the term "homosexual lifestyle" to pigeon hole the orientation, please see:

The continued reference by one of its principals Dr Wayne West towards tolerance as equal to allowing fisting and felching when we know clearly that such extreme practices do not occur here in large numbers and are more found in MSM sub groups overseas especially in Europe such as the biker, leather and skin head communities yet the practices are waved around as if they happen here with regularity, and so if it happens here, the bigger question is as I posed on Dr West's blog isn't privacy and by extension a plural society the bigger issues here, is anyone forcing you by tying you to a chair and have you watch such acts when they are agreed upon by consenting adults?

Yet we do not see the outrage that is required with scant regard paid to neglect of children or the issue of children in adult state facilities and the psychological trauma some face where now civil society leaders are now more than willing to use civil disobedience to force government to act as they have been pussyfooting on this matter, I ought to blog more on it as well, to move girls and female prisoners from Fort Agusta to Up Park Camp is NOT RIGHT in the name of expediency to extend the Kingston Terminal when the facility is a maximum security one, those are the things this letter writer who is a teacher should be concerned with me thinks.
