A 22 -year-old was electrocuted on a Tuesday morning after trying to jump a fence with high voltage access to housing , located in Ponce neighborhood of this city.
Walter David Rodriguez, a young gay man , known as Salome , apparently trying to enter the house and climb the cyclone mesh and want to cross the lines with electricity , high voltage glared , being inert over the fence .
According to the first report, the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at the Ponce neighborhood of this city, opposite a renowned restaurant selling roast .
Members of the Fire Department came to the scene to lower the lifeless body of 22 year old .
Also they reached the police and forensic medicine authorities to the recognition of Law and later handed the lifeless body to his families, who were present at the place where the accident occurred. Reasons as to why he was jumping the fence is unclear if it is that he was escaping a chase or taking a shortcut.
Other matters have seen clashes in New Kingston with some other homeless gays brethren who have been openly soliciting sexual favours in exchange for some payment which has landed them in some serious trouble; a stabbing incident as well in January which just landed on my desk is being investigated by police; a geographical change by the authorities of an old cruising haunt also has had some deleterious effect as reported thugs have been patrolling the spot supposedly looking for 'battyman'
Sad our least are still spiraling out of control after a glaring non interest in addressing such matters when they were far more manageable.
We have had announcement after announcement with sometimes thunderous applause yet no real intervention coming to address the problem especially in Kingston as the problem just rolls on and snowballs with all kinds of disastrous outcomes; even as displacements and homelessness in the LGBT (more so MSM/transgender) groups are affected more and the crisis reports are available for all to see or hear about.
Remember this big one yet no help:

meanwhile:
Sadly designated sites (167 King Street) for general homeless assistance still remain unused since as evidenced above they were launched by a JLP government so continuity is not the name of the game for the benefit of the least amongst us.
Rest in peace yah man.
Peace and tolerance
