Voodoo Lounge Cancels Performance by Buju Banton while the local media continues to ignore or not report the happenings of the now ill-fated US tour. By all indications hi management team is still working on additional dates and the opposition predominantly from the gay groups and some liberals are stepping up the action with facebook and website/social network promotions.
I would call it a day if I were Buju Banton it makes no sense he continues to fight this but as he had said the war won't be over between him and gays so let's see how it pans out.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/
Voodoo Lounge announced today that it has canceled the Tuesday, October 13, 2009 performance of reggae act Buju Banton. "After reviewing Buju Banton's lyrics, I was appalled by their sheer hatred and encouragement of violence towards the gay, lesbian and transgender community," stated David Powell, co-owner of Voodoo Lounge. "There is no place for these types of incendiary remarks at Voodoo Lounge or in San Jose."
"We sincerely apologize to the members of the gay, lesbian and transgender community for any pain the scheduling of this performance has caused. Our ownership team did not know the content of Banton's lyrics. If we had known, we would not have scheduled this performance," Powell continued.
"Voodoo Lounge remains committed to providing a fun, lively music experience for San Jose's diverse community," Powell stated.

I'm actually weary of this seemingly endless tour fight. As you say, he should call it a day, fall back and regroup. However, if he really wants a fight to the finish, I guess we must oblige him.
The Jamaican media does not know how to deal with the burgeoning gay rights movement in the west, so their tendency is to brush everything under the carpet and remain silent.
