Can gay church gain acceptance?

Metropolitan Community Church is a gay-friendly, international, Christian church. Its general conference is held every two years and focuses on human rights issues as well as church development. This year, delegates from more than 25 countries came to the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort, to connect and learn from each other. Can this gay-friendly church help gain acceptance from other churchs and religious organizations? Or will there forever be a chasm between homosexual persons and conservative religious groups?
